Here is what matters on this one. rigid-core stands for stone polymer composite, and that core is the point: it is hard, rigid, and stable, so the plank stays flat over uneven subfloors and ignores the temperature swings that move cheaper vinyl. It clicks together as a floating floor. It has a 20 mil wear layer, the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the builder-grade 6 to 12 mil you find in big-box vinyl. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. Water is a non-issue: it is 100% waterproof through the whole plank, which is what makes it the go-to for bathrooms, kitchens, and below-grade rooms. It comes with an attached acoustic pad, which softens sound between floors and means one less layer to buy and lay. Planks run up to 8 inches wide and 49 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is backed by a 15-year Light commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Brookfield Maple, Douglas Maple, Essex Maple, Fairhaven Oak, and Hatfield Maple.
