Most vinyl floors look fine in the box; what separates them is the wear layer, the thing that decides whether the floor still looks new in five years.
In simple terms: Richmond Flooring Synergy Long is a wood-look vinyl plank that handles water, pets, and busy rooms without complaint. We carry it and install it in-house.
Here is what matters on this one. This is a WPC floor, a wood-polymer composite core that is rigid like rigid-core but with a little more give, so it feels warmer and softer underfoot and runs quieter, a nice touch in kitchens and rooms you stand in for a while. The 20 mil wear layer puts it in heavy-residential, light-commercial territory, which is where vinyl earns its keep in a family home. On vinyl, that mil number is the best single predictor of how long the floor keeps looking new, more than thickness or price. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. Planks run up to 9 inches wide and 60 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is also FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. It is backed by a Lifetime residential and 15-year commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Dusty Trail, Amber Cliff, Rocky Coast, and Willow Creek.
Decision line: Synergy Long is the warmer, softer-feeling option, a good fit where comfort underfoot is worth a slightly thicker board.
Our own crew installs Richmond Flooring Synergy Long across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted. A floating vinyl floor still needs a clean, flat base, so we level and prep first, then finish the trim and transitions. See our vinyl installation page.
A sample chip never shows how Synergy Long looks across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie store, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the vinyl vs laminate guide.
