The build and the spec: This is an rigid-core floor, stone polymer composite, which means a dense rigid core that stays dead flat and dimensionally stable. It will not expand, contract, or telegraph small subfloor flaws the way flexible vinyl can, and it floats into place over most existing surfaces. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. It comes with an attached acoustic pad, which softens sound between floors and means one less layer to buy and lay. It is rated for use over in-floor radiant heat. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture follows the printed grain and reads convincingly like wood. Painted micro-bevelled edges frame each plank and hide the seams. Colours in the range include Divibeach, Castletown, Sunderland, and Birch Hills.
