The build and the spec: WPC means a wood-polymer composite core. It keeps the stability of rigid vinyl but adds a bit of cushion, so it is warmer and quieter underfoot than a stone core, which people notice most in kitchens and family rooms. The 22 mil wear layer puts it in heavy-residential, light-commercial territory, which is where vinyl earns its keep in a family home. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. Because it is 100% waterproof rather than just water-resistant, you can put it in the rooms that rule out wood and laminate, full baths, laundry rooms, kitchens, and basements.
