COREtec Floors Originals CR500 Vinyl Plank Flooring
Vinyl has quietly become the floor of choice for kitchens, basements, and busy households, and for one simple reason: water does not bother it.
In simple terms: COREtec Floors Originals CR500 is a wood-look vinyl plank that handles water, pets, and busy rooms without complaint. We carry it and install it in-house.
The core is WPC, wood-polymer composite, the more comfortable of the rigid cores. It has a touch more give than stone-based SPC, so it feels softer and warmer to walk on while staying stable and flat. It carries a 30 mil wear layer, a commercial-grade thickness that shrugs off heavy traffic, pets, and chairs. On vinyl, that mil number is the best single predictor of how long the floor keeps looking new, more than thickness or price. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. An attached acoustic underlayment cuts down sound transfer and adds a little underfoot comfort, and it saves a separate pad on install. Planks run up to 8 inches wide and 72 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is backed by an USF Lifetime Resilient (defects, wear, waterproof, petproof residential and USF 10-year Medium commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Mustang Oak, Smoky Oak, Saddle Oak, Natural Linen Oak, and Warm Sand Oak.
Decision line: pick Originals CR500 when underfoot comfort and quiet matter as much as waterproofing, such as kitchens and family rooms you stand in for a while.
Our own crew installs COREtec Floors Originals CR500 across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted. A floating vinyl floor still needs a clean, flat base, so we level and prep first, then finish the trim and transitions. See our vinyl installation page.
A sample chip never shows how Originals CR500 looks across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie showroom, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the vinyl vs laminate guide. See more COREtec Floors options on our COREtec Floors page.
