Olympia Tile Metropolitan Mayflower Red Abrasive Quarry Tile 6" x 6"

A commercial kitchen floor takes grease, hot water and carts all day. Quarry tile is the dense, unglazed clay tile made for that work.

In simple terms: Metropolitan Mayflower Red is a 6x6 quarry tile for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the abrasive finish in Mayflower Red from the Olympia Tile Metropolitan range. The actual size is 6" x 6", or 15.24 x 15.24 cm.

It is 12 mm thick. It carries a High Plus commercial traffic rating, the top commercial rating listed. Quarry tile is a dense, unglazed clay tile made for hard-working floors such as commercial kitchens, and the colour runs through the whole tile.

It suits kitchen floors, bathroom floors, hallways, basements, shower and bathroom walls, covered porches and patios and busy commercial floors such as stores and offices. Pick it over glazed tile where grease and hot water hit the floor every day.

Each box holds 28 pieces and covers 7 sq ft, so a 40 sq ft bathroom floor takes 6 boxes, or 7 boxes with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 16 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside.

In this size, Metropolitan also comes in Puritan Grey. Matching round edge long side and cove base trim is listed in the same colour.

Our own crews install it, so the people who measure the job are the people who answer for it. See Olympia Tile Metropolitan Mayflower Red in person at our Mississauga showroom (700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, 905-277-2227) or our Barrie showroom (112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4, 705-726-2272).
