Onice Reale Smeraldo at 48" x 110" is slab format. Handled properly it reads as stone rather than as tiling, but it is not a weekend job. The polish throws light around, which helps a dark room, but a polished face is slick once it is wet. Worth thinking twice before it goes on a shower floor or just inside a front door. Porcelain is the hard wearing one, which is why it ends up in the rooms that get walked through. The colours in this line are not all rated the same: PEI runs 2 to 5 across them, so check the rating on the one you are actually buying before it goes anywhere busy. A box holds 36.66 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 4 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece. Worth seeing in person in Mississauga or Barrie, because lighting changes tile more than people expect.
