The natural surface keeps its texture, which is what you want where feet arrive wet. Porcelain absorbs almost no water, which is what lets it go into a shower, a mudroom or a covered porch without any fuss. PEI 4 is rated past residential traffic, so a busy hallway, a shop floor or an office is within range. Work on 10.76 sq ft a box. That puts a 100 sq ft floor at 11 boxes with ten percent in hand, which is what you want for cuts and breakage. There is far more grout per square foot here than with a big tile.
