Canadian Standard CS Water-Resistant Laminate

Canadian Standard CS is an 8mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate, with a water-resistant core for the spills, pets, and wet boots that come with kitchens, baths, and entries. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Most laminate fails at the joints, not the surface, and it fails first in the rooms that see water.

In simple terms: Canadian Standard CS is an 8mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate. It is meant for the rooms where water is part of daily life, and our own crew installs it.

Here is what you are actually buying. CS runs an 8mm board, the standard residential thickness, stable underfoot and compatible with most existing subfloors. It carries an AC4 wear rating, a step above standard that holds up to busy family households, hallways, and main floors. It has a water-resistant core, which lets it handle the spills and humidity that would swell a standard laminate at the joints.

Because of that core, CS holds up in the rooms that sink a standard laminate: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries. The range includes tones such as Crown Point, Wood Land, Lake View, Laurel Ridge, and Town Mill.

Decision line: CS is the pick wherever water is a factor, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; keep a standard laminate for the dry rooms to save.

We install Canadian Standard CS with our own crew, never subcontracted, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. Most laminate problems trace back to the subfloor, so we level it, underlay it correctly, and finish the transitions. More on the laminate installation page.

Worth seeing in person, since grain and sheen read differently across a floor. CS is at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms; contact us to check stock, or compare on the vinyl vs laminate guide.
