Call Mississauga Call BarrieWhy Capped Composite
Wood decks in Ontario live a hard life: soaked in April, baked in July, frozen solid by January, and sanded or stained every second summer in between. Composite ended the maintenance cycle, and capped composite fixed what early composite got wrong. NewTechWood's UltraShield boards wrap a composite core in a protective polymer shell on every side, which is the part that resists fading, staining and moisture. No staining, no sealing, a wash when the pollen settles.
In simple terms: the deck you build once and then simply use. We are a stocking NewTechWood supplier, with the material at both stores and shipping anywhere in Ontario.
Boards for Builds, Tiles for Balconies
The UltraShield decking boards come in 12 and 16 foot lengths and are rated for verandas, pool decks and patios, residential and commercial alike. If you are building new or re-decking an existing frame, this is the product, and we will take off the quantities from your deck plan at either store.
The Quick Deck interlocking deck tiles solve a different problem: the condo balcony, rooftop terrace or tired concrete patio you cannot or do not want to rebuild. These UltraShield deck tiles click together and lay over the existing flat surface with nothing fastened into it, in 12 by 12, 12 by 24 and 12 by 36 inch formats. Colours run from warm wood tones, Brazilian Ipe, Peruvian Teak, Roman Antique, to cool greys like Hawaiian Charcoal, Light Gray and Stone Grey.
The same UltraShield program also covers exterior siding and screen and partition beams, so an outdoor project can match from deck to privacy screen to cladding, one material family, one place to buy it.
Decision line: building or re-decking a structure, buy the boards; refreshing a balcony or patio surface you already have, buy the Quick Deck tiles.
Cottage country, plan ahead
Our Barrie store at 112 Saunders Road, just off Highway 400, is the natural supply point for Muskoka, Simcoe County and points north. Decking season and cottage season are the same season: May to September fills up months ahead, so get the order in early and we will tell you the real date.
Composite Decking FAQ
What is capped composite decking?
A board with a wood-plastic composite core wrapped in a protective polymer shell on all sides. NewTechWood calls its shell UltraShield. The cap is what resists fading, staining and moisture, which is why capped boards outlast the first generation of uncapped composite.
Should I buy deck boards or Quick Deck tiles?
Boards, in 12 and 16 foot lengths, are for building or re-decking a full deck structure. Quick Deck tiles interlock and lay over an existing flat surface, a condo balcony, a tired concrete patio, a rooftop, with no fasteners into the surface below. Different jobs, same UltraShield material.
What colours do the Quick Deck tiles come in?
Wood tones and mineral greys including Brazilian Ipe, Peruvian Teak, Roman Antique, Hawaiian Charcoal, Light Gray and Stone Grey, in 12 by 12, 12 by 24 and 12 by 36 inch formats. Full samples are at both stores.
Do you deliver decking to cottage country?
Yes, we supply anywhere in Ontario from our Mississauga and Barrie stores, and Barrie is the natural jumping-off point for Muskoka and Simcoe County projects. In the May to September season, order well ahead; cottage timelines fill up months in advance.
