The parts that finish the deck

  • TC 2 decking clips: hidden fasteners that hold the boards to the joists without screws through the face.
  • Colour-matched screws: for perimeter boards and places where a clip cannot go.
  • Fascia and finishers (US03, US05, US08 and US33): cover the rim joist and finish exposed edges in colours to match the boards.
  • End trim: closes off board ends.

Before you order

Composite boards are only as good as the frame under them. Joist spacing, gapping at the ends and sides, and ventilation under the deck all need to follow NewTechWood's installation guide, and a frame that is rotting or out of level should be repaired first. For a patio or balcony with a concrete surface, deck tiles are usually the simpler choice.

Do composite deck boards need to be stained?
No. NewTechWood UltraShield boards are capped, so they do not need staining, sealing or sanding. Clean them with water and a soft brush.
How are NewTechWood deck boards fastened?
With TC 2 hidden clips that sit between the boards and hold them to the joists, so no screws show on the walking surface. Colour-matched screws are used where clips cannot go, such as the perimeter.
What colours are available?
Brazilian Ipe, Charcoal, Peruvian Teak, Red Cedar, Roman Antique and Stone Grey, with fascia, finishers and screws to match.
Can composite boards go over my old deck frame?
Only if the frame is sound, level and spaced to the manufacturer's joist spacing. A frame with rot or movement needs repair before new boards go on.
What do I use to finish the edges of the deck?
NewTechWood fascia and finishers cover the rim joist and exposed edges, and end trim closes off board ends, in colours to match the boards.
