Ceratec Chicago Night Matte Porcelain Tile 12" x 24"

Natural stone needs sealing and every batch looks different. Chicago Night gives you a stone look in porcelain that stays consistent.

In simple terms: Chicago Night is a 12x24 stone look porcelain tile for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the matte finish in Night from the Ceratec Chicago range.

The actual size is 11.7" x 23.5" (297 x 597 mm). It is 9.5 mm thick. The body is coloured to match the surface, so a chip shows less than it would on a white-body tile. The spec sheet lists PEI III surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading above 0.42, an R10 slip rating and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for light commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V2, slight. It is made in Portugal. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits open-plan floors, living areas, basements, shower and bathroom walls and covered porches and patios. Pick it over real stone when you want the look with no sealing.

Each box holds 5 pieces and covers 9.55 sq ft, so a 150 sq ft kitchen floor takes 16 boxes, or 18 boxes with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 12 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside. It is rated for light commercial traffic, so keep it out of busy commercial floors.

In this size, Chicago also comes in Lake, Loop and Skydeck. Night also comes in 24" x 24". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.
