Bruce Flooring American Treasures Solid Hardwood

Bruce Flooring American Treasures is hickory solid hardwood, a full 3/4 inch board that sands and refinishes for decades, and hard enough for busy households, for dry, above-grade rooms. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Real wood ages into a room. A solid floor can be sanded and recoloured years later, so the floor you buy now is not the floor you are stuck with.

In simple terms: Bruce Flooring American Treasures is real solid wood, the kind of floor you refinish instead of replacing. It belongs in dry, above-grade living areas, bedrooms, and hallways, and our own crew nails it down.

It is hickory, the most character-rich domestic species, with dramatic grain, colour variation, and natural knots. On the Janka hardness scale Hickory sits around 1820, well above oak, so it resists dents and traffic very well. At a full 3/4 inch, it is solid wood all the way through, which means it can be sanded back and refinished several times over its life and recoloured if your style changes, a floor that can outlast the rest of the room. Plank widths run from 2 1/4 inch up to 5 inch, so you can keep it traditional and narrow or go wide-plank and contemporary.

Worth saying plainly: solid hardwood and standing moisture do not mix. Skip it in basements, full baths, and over most in-floor heating, and let it acclimate to your home first. Those rooms are where engineered hardwood earns its place.

Decision line: American Treasures is one of the harder floors here, a strong pick for busy households, kids, and pets, chosen for both the look and the dent resistance.

We install Bruce Flooring American Treasures with our own crew, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. A nailed solid floor needs a sound, dry subfloor and proper acclimation, which is what our hardwood installation team handles, down to the stairs and transitions.

Wood is worth seeing before you commit. Visit either showroom for American Treasures, contact us to confirm stock, and see more across the hardwood flooring range. For the full Bruce Flooring range, see our Bruce Flooring page.
