Vizion Floor is a Canadian flooring company supplying rigid core vinyl plank for residential and commercial spaces, with operations in Brampton and Richmond, British Columbia. The line Squarefoot carries is the Marvelous Collection, split into two builds: Marvelous 7 at 7 mm and Marvelous 8 at 8 mm. Both use a 5Gi click system and a Random EIR finish, meaning the embossing follows the grain of the plank rather than repeating a single stamp across the floor.

The colour naming tells you something about the brand. Marvelous 7 is named after American national parks, from Acadia and Arches to Denali, Yosemite, Zion, and Saguaro. Marvelous 8 is named after Canadian ones: Banff, Yoho, Fundy, Terra Nova, Forillon, Wapusk, and Thousand Island.

This is the decision most people land on this page to make. Both planks are the same footprint, 7.2 inches wide by roughly 60 inches long, and both use the same 5Gi click and Random EIR surface. The difference is thickness and wear layer, and that difference decides where the floor belongs.

Decision: The wear layer, not the total thickness, is what protects the floor's look over time. Marvelous 7 at 20 mil is a solid residential floor. Step up to Marvelous 8 at 22 mil for entryways, hallways, homes with dogs, and any light commercial space. The extra millimetre of core also feels marginally more solid underfoot.

What Random EIR and 5Gi actually mean

Two specs on this line are worth understanding, because they are the ones you can see and feel.

Random EIR stands for embossed in register, applied randomly. The texture you feel lines up with the wood grain you see, and the pattern varies plank to plank instead of repeating. On a wide 7.2 inch board across an open room, that is the difference between a floor that reads as wood and one that reads as printed vinyl.

5Gi is a drop-lock click system. Planks angle in on the long side and drop into place on the short side, no tapping block needed on the end joints.
