1867 Floors Authentic Horizon Water-Resistant Laminate

1867 Floors Authentic Horizon is a 12mm AC5 rated water-resistant laminate, with a water-resistant core for the spills, pets, and wet boots that come with kitchens, baths, and entries, made in Germany. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Near a kitchen sink or a back door in an Ontario home, the first thing a cheap floor does is swell at the seams.

In simple terms: 1867 Floors Authentic Horizon is a 12mm AC5 rated water-resistant laminate, waterproof enough for kitchens, baths, and entries. We carry it and install it in-house.

The Authentic Horizon range is built around a range of wood-look tones. The range includes tones such as Baronia Sand, Olchon Smoked, Cream, Livingston Natural, and Soria Grey.

The construction backs up the look. Authentic Horizon runs a 12mm board on the thicker end of the range, which gives a solid, quiet step and bridges minor subfloor irregularities better than thin planks. It carries an AC5 wear rating, the level specified for light commercial use, so it shrugs off heavy household traffic, rentals, and high-use entries. It installs with a click-lock system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. Made in Germany, the benchmark for laminate manufacturing, which is your signal that core density and print quality are held to a high standard. It is rated for 100 hours of surface water protection, which in practice means a spill, a melting ice cube, or a wet boot will not swell the seams as long as it is wiped up in good time. It is approved for use over in-floor heating, a common request in Toronto condos and Barrie homes. It is backed by a 25-Year residential and 5-Year Light commercial warranty. That construction is what lets Authentic Horizon go where ordinary laminate cannot: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries, and anywhere a spill or wet boot is part of daily life.

Decision line: choose Authentic Horizon for any room that meets water, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; for dry bedrooms and living rooms, a standard laminate will also do the job for less.

Installation is in-house across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. Because it works over in-floor heating, it pairs well with the heating membranes we stock. A floating floor needs a flat, dry base, so subfloor prep and underlayment are where we spend the time. See the laminate installation page.

We keep Authentic Horizon at both showrooms so you can judge it under room light. contact us about availability, or browse the full water-resistant laminate range for more options.
