Anderson Tuftex Terra Nova Broadloom Carpet

Anderson Tuftex Terra Nova is a textured pile broadloom carpet, nylon, carried and installed by Squarefoot Flooring. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms.

For bedrooms, stairs, and family rooms, nothing beats wall-to-wall carpet for warmth and quiet, and the choice really comes down to two things: the pile style and the fiber.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Terra Nova is traditional wall-to-wall carpet, installed over an underpad for comfort and sound control. It is a soft, warm choice for bedrooms, stairs, and living spaces, and we install it in-house.

The style and the build: It is a textured cut pile, the most popular style for a reason: the yarns are twisted so the surface scatters light and hides footprints, vacuum marks, and everyday traffic. It is the easy, low-fuss choice for the rooms a family actually lives in. The yarn is nylon, the workhorse of carpet fiber. It resists crushing, bounces back after furniture and feet, and cleans up well, so it keeps its look in the rooms that get used hardest. A Softbac backing is more flexible and quieter than a traditional stiff backing, which makes it easier to fit cleanly around a room and less prone to wrinkling over time. At a dense 65 oz per square yard of face weight, there is a lot of yarn underfoot, which reads as a plusher, more substantial carpet. Sold on 12-foot rolls, it covers most rooms with minimal seaming, which our installers plan to fall in low-traffic spots. It is made in the USA. Colours in the range include Arrowhead, Beach Grass, Canvas, Cascade, Chelsea Fog, and Hazel.

Good fits are bedrooms, living rooms, basements, home offices, and especially stairs, where carpet adds grip and hushes footsteps. It is warm and sound-absorbing, the opposite of a hard floor. The exception is wet rooms, where a waterproof hard surface is the better call.

Decision line: Terra Nova is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

This installs the traditional way: a separate carpet underpad goes down first, perimeter tack strips hold the edges, and our own installers power-stretch the carpet so it lies drum-tight, then heat-weld any seams so they vanish. Doing the stretch and the pad right is what prevents wrinkles and wear down the line. See our projects for past jobs.

We keep Terra Nova at both showrooms, where you can feel the pile and judge the colour properly. Contact us for stock, see how it works on stairs, or for offices and retail ask about our commercial flooring work. See the wider Anderson Tuftex range too.
