Anderson Tuftex Tangent Broadloom Carpet
Soft underfoot, warm in winter, and quiet in a busy house, broadloom carpet earns its place in bedrooms and lower levels, as long as you match the construction to the traffic.
In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Tangent is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind that comes on a wide roll and is stretched over a separate cushion for a soft, warm, quiet floor. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.
Here is what matters with this one. This is a loop pile, built from uncut yarn loops that resist crushing and hide soil, a durable pick for high-traffic areas and stairs. If you have pets that claw, note that loops can snag, so a cut pile may suit better. The yarn is PET polyester, soft underfoot and inherently stain-resistant, and commonly made from recycled material. It is easy on the budget and lovely in a bedroom, though nylon is the tougher pick for heavy traffic. The standout here is the backing: a LifeGuard waterproof backing that stops spills from soaking through to the cushion and subfloor, so a knocked-over drink or a pet accident stays on the surface where you can clean it. If you have kids or pets, this is the feature to look for. Its 57 oz per square yard face weight is solid residential density, a good balance of feel and value. The 12-foot roll width means fewer seams across a room, and we place the ones you do need where they show least. Made in the USA, it also uses recycled fiber. Colours in the range include Canvas, Charcoals, Dark Roast, First Frost, Fresh Bread, and Granite.
Good fits are bedrooms, living rooms, basements, home offices, and especially stairs, where carpet adds grip and hushes footsteps. It is warm and sound-absorbing, the opposite of a hard floor. The exception is wet rooms, where a waterproof hard surface is the better call.
Most broadloom installs by the stretch-in method, and the cushion underneath matters as much as the carpet. Our own crew, employees rather than subcontractors, tacks down perimeter strips, lays a quality carpet underpad, then power-stretches the carpet tight and heat-seams any joins so they disappear. A properly stretched floor over the right pad is what keeps carpet looking good and feeling soft for years. Browse our projects to see our work.
Decision line: Tangent is the durable, soil-hiding pick for stairs, hallways, and busy rooms; if you have pets that claw, ask us about a cut-pile alternative.
We keep Tangent at both showrooms, where you can feel the pile and judge the colour properly. Contact us for stock, see how it works on stairs, or for offices and retail ask about our commercial flooring work. See the wider Anderson Tuftex range too.
