Why Sumptuous II Stands Out

Broadloom carpet is the wall-to-wall classic: a wide roll stretched over a cushion for a soft, near-continuous floor. Picking the right one is about matching the pile and fiber to how the room is used.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Sumptuous II is traditional wall-to-wall carpet, installed over an underpad for comfort and sound control. It is a soft, warm choice for bedrooms, stairs, and living spaces, and we install it in-house.

The style and the build: This is a textured cut pile, where each yarn is twisted to break up the surface, so it disguises footprints and traffic far better than a smooth plush. That makes it the workhorse choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and family spaces. The fiber is nylon, the most resilient carpet fiber there is: it springs back from foot traffic instead of matting down, takes cleaning well, and holds up on stairs and in busy rooms better than any other fiber. It is built on a LifeGuard waterproof backing, a moisture barrier that keeps spills and pet accidents from reaching the pad and subfloor underneath, which makes carpet far more forgiving in a real household. At a dense 66 oz per square yard of face weight, there is a lot of yarn underfoot, which reads as a plusher, more substantial carpet. The 12-foot roll width means fewer seams across a room, and we place the ones you do need where they show least. It is USA-made. Colours in the range include Breton, Cliff, Cream Tea, Cricket Club, Earthen, and First Star.

It belongs in the soft rooms of a home: bedrooms, family and media rooms, hallways, stairs, and finished basements, where comfort, warmth, and quiet outweigh the need for a wipeable surface. The only rooms to skip are the wet ones, baths and laundries.

Decision line: Sumptuous II is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.

We keep Sumptuous II at both stores, where you can feel the pile and judge the colour properly. Contact us for stock, see how it works on stairs, or for offices and retail ask about our commercial flooring work. See the wider Anderson Tuftex range too.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Anderson Tuftex Sumptuous II?
Anderson Tuftex Sumptuous II is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind on a 12-foot roll, in a textured cut pile style built on nylon. It is stretched in over a separate underpad. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Where is Sumptuous II best used?
Sumptuous II suits bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. Its nylon fiber handles stairs and high-traffic areas well. Carpet should not go in wet rooms like bathrooms or laundry rooms.
How is Sumptuous II installed?
Sumptuous II is installed by the stretch-in method over a separate cushion. Our crew tacks perimeter strips, lays the underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams any joins flat. The quality of the underpad and the stretch is what keeps carpet looking and feeling good over time.
Does Sumptuous II protect against spills?
Yes. Sumptuous II is built on a LifeGuard waterproof backing, a moisture barrier that stops spills and pet accidents from soaking through to the cushion and subfloor, so messes stay on the surface where they can be cleaned. It does not make the carpet suitable for a bathroom, but it makes everyday spills far more forgiving.
Where can I see Sumptuous II near me?
You can see Anderson Tuftex Sumptuous II at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Carpet reads differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
