Why Faux Paw Stands Out

Soft underfoot, warm in winter, and quiet in a busy house, broadloom carpet earns its place in bedrooms and lower levels, as long as you match the construction to the traffic.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Faux Paw is roll carpet for wall-to-wall installation, the soft, quiet, warm floor for the rooms where comfort matters most. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it with its own team.

Here is what matters with this one. It is a cut-and-loop, blending cut tufts with loops to build a subtle relief pattern. The varied surface hides everyday soil and footprints and reads as texture rather than a printed motif, sitting nicely between a flat plush and a hard loop. The fiber is nylon, the most resilient carpet fiber there is: it springs back from foot traffic instead of matting down, takes cleaning well, and holds up on stairs and in busy rooms better than any other fiber. Being solution-dyed, the colour is locked into the strand, so it resists fading and tough stains can be cleaned hard without bleaching out the colour. The Softbac backing is lighter and more flexible than a conventional hard backing, which helps it lie flat, stretch cleanly, and stay wrinkle-free underfoot. At 26.5 oz per square yard, it is a lighter-weight carpet suited to bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms. It comes on standard 12-foot-wide rolls, so a typical room needs only one or two planned seams. It is USA-made. Colours in the range include Hazelnut, Monterey, Antiquity, Cork, Downpour, and Nimbus.

It belongs in the soft rooms of a home: bedrooms, family and media rooms, hallways, stairs, and finished basements, where comfort, warmth, and quiet outweigh the need for a wipeable surface. The only rooms to skip are the wet ones, baths and laundries.

This installs the traditional way: a separate carpet underpad goes down first, perimeter tack strips hold the edges, and our own installers power-stretch the carpet so it lies drum-tight, then heat-weld any seams so they vanish. Doing the stretch and the pad right is what prevents wrinkles and wear down the line. See our projects for past jobs.

Decision line: Faux Paw is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

Carpet colour and texture read very differently across a full room than in a small sample, so it is worth seeing Faux Paw in person at either store. Contact us to check stock, browse the wider broadloom carpet range, or compare it with modular carpet tile. You can more on our Anderson Tuftex page.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Anderson Tuftex Faux Paw?
Anderson Tuftex Faux Paw is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind on a 12-foot roll, in a cut-and-loop style built on nylon. It is stretched in over a separate underpad. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Where is Faux Paw best used?
Faux Paw suits bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. Its nylon fiber handles stairs and high-traffic areas well. Carpet should not go in wet rooms like bathrooms or laundry rooms.
How is Faux Paw installed?
Faux Paw is installed by the stretch-in method over a separate cushion. Our crew tacks perimeter strips, lays the underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams any joins flat. The quality of the underpad and the stretch is what keeps carpet looking and feeling good over time.
Is Faux Paw good with pets and kids?
Faux Paw uses resilient nylon that takes cleaning well, a practical choice for active households. For homes with pets, a cut pile is generally safer than a loop, which claws can snag. Ask us to match the right style to your household.
Where can I see Faux Paw near me?
You can see Anderson Tuftex Faux Paw at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Carpet reads differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
