Anderson Tuftex Fabulous Broadloom Carpet

Anderson Tuftex Fabulous is a textured pile broadloom carpet, nylon, carried and installed by Squarefoot Flooring. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms.

Broadloom carpet is the wall-to-wall classic: a wide roll stretched over a cushion for a soft, near-continuous floor. Picking the right one is about matching the pile and fiber to how the room is used.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Fabulous is traditional wall-to-wall carpet, installed over an underpad for comfort and sound control. It is a soft, warm choice for bedrooms, stairs, and living spaces, and we install it in-house.

The style and the build: It is a textured cut pile, built from twisted yarns that refuse to show every footprint and track mark. That forgiving surface is why it is the default choice for everyday rooms rather than for-show spaces. The yarn is nylon, the workhorse of carpet fiber. It resists crushing, bounces back after furniture and feet, and cleans up well, so it keeps its look in the rooms that get used hardest. A Softbac backing is more flexible and quieter than a traditional stiff backing, which makes it easier to fit cleanly around a room and less prone to wrinkling over time. Its 75 oz per square yard face weight is on the dense, substantial end, so it feels thick and full underfoot. It comes on standard 12-foot-wide rolls, so a typical room needs only one or two planned seams. It is USA-made. Colours in the range include Asphalt, Biscay, Calypso, Charcoal Blue, Chic Taupe, and Distant Land.

Think bedrooms, family rooms, home theatres, stairs, and lower levels: anywhere you want a soft, warm, quiet floor. Carpet also absorbs sound between rooms and floors, which helps in condos and busy households. Keep it out of bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms where moisture is a constant.

Decision line: Fabulous is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.

See Fabulous in person before deciding, since pile and colour shift across a room and under different light. It is at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms; contact us about availability, and if it is for a lower level, our best flooring for a basement guide is worth a read. The full Anderson Tuftex lineup is worth a look as well.
