Anderson Tuftex Expressive Broadloom Carpet

Anderson Tuftex Expressive is a cut & loop pile broadloom carpet, nylon, carried and installed by Squarefoot Flooring. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms.

Broadloom carpet is the wall-to-wall classic: a wide roll stretched over a cushion for a soft, near-continuous floor. Picking the right one is about matching the pile and fiber to how the room is used.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Expressive is traditional wall-to-wall carpet, installed over an underpad for comfort and sound control. It is a soft, warm choice for bedrooms, stairs, and living spaces, and we install it in-house.

Here is what matters with this one. It is a cut-and-loop carpet, which combines cut yarns and loops to sculpt a pattern into the surface. That high-low texture hides soil and footprints and adds visual interest without a printed look, a versatile middle ground between plush and loop. It is built on nylon, prized for resilience: nylon recovers its shape under traffic and wears longer than softer fibers, which is why it is the go-to for stairs, hallways, and high-use family rooms. It sits on a Softbac backing, softer and more pliable than an old-style rigid backing, so it tucks neatly around a room and resists the rippling that stiffer backings can develop. At a dense 65 oz per square yard of face weight, there is a lot of yarn underfoot, which reads as a plusher, more substantial carpet. It comes on standard 12-foot-wide rolls, so a typical room needs only one or two planned seams. It is manufactured in the USA. Colours in the range include Arrowhead, Beach Grass, Blue Jeans, Casual, Dark Lilac, and Ethereal.

Broadloom is at its best in bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, the rooms where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. It is the one floor that makes a staircase quieter and safer underfoot. The one place to avoid carpet is a wet room like a bathroom or laundry.

Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.

Decision line: Expressive is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

See Expressive in person before deciding, since pile and colour shift across a room and under different light.
