Anderson Tuftex Enlightened Broadloom Carpet
Carpet is the one floor you feel before you see it, and broadloom is still the softest, warmest way to cover a bedroom or a whole lower level.
In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Enlightened is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind that comes on a wide roll and is stretched over a separate cushion for a soft, warm, quiet floor. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.
The style and the build: This is a patterned style, with the design worked into the pile itself. It camouflages everyday traffic and adds a tailored look that a plain carpet cannot. It is built on nylon, prized for resilience: nylon recovers its shape under traffic and wears longer than softer fibers, which is why it is the go-to for stairs, hallways, and high-use family rooms. The Softbac backing is lighter and more flexible than a conventional hard backing, which helps it lie flat, stretch cleanly, and stay wrinkle-free underfoot. At a dense 65 oz per square yard of face weight, there is a lot of yarn underfoot, which reads as a plusher, more substantial carpet. Sold on 12-foot rolls, it covers most rooms with minimal seaming, which our installers plan to fall in low-traffic spots. It is made in the USA. Colours in the range include Arrowhead, Beach Grass, Casual, Dark Lilac, Ethereal, and French Cream.
It belongs in the soft rooms of a home: bedrooms, family and media rooms, hallways, stairs, and finished basements, where comfort, warmth, and quiet outweigh the need for a wipeable surface. The only rooms to skip are the wet ones, baths and laundries.
Decision line: Enlightened is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.
This installs the traditional way: a separate carpet underpad goes down first, perimeter tack strips hold the edges, and our own installers power-stretch the carpet so it lies drum-tight, then heat-weld any seams so they vanish. Doing the stretch and the pad right is what prevents wrinkles and wear down the line. See our projects for past jobs.
We keep Enlightened at both showrooms, where you can feel the pile and judge the colour properly. Contact us for stock, see how it works on stairs, or for offices and retail ask about our commercial flooring work. The full Anderson Tuftex lineup is worth a look as well.
