Why Chit Chat Stands Out

Soft underfoot, warm in winter, and quiet in a busy house, broadloom carpet earns its place in bedrooms and lower levels, as long as you match the construction to the traffic.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Chit Chat is roll carpet for wall-to-wall installation, the soft, quiet, warm floor for the rooms where comfort matters most. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it with its own team.

Here is what matters with this one. It is a cut-and-loop, blending cut tufts with loops to build a subtle relief pattern. The varied surface hides everyday soil and footprints and reads as texture rather than a printed motif, sitting nicely between a flat plush and a hard loop. It uses PET polyester, valued for a soft hand and built-in stain resistance, frequently with recycled fiber. It is a comfortable, value-minded choice best kept to steadier-traffic rooms rather than the busiest paths in the house. It is built on a LifeGuard waterproof backing, a moisture barrier that keeps spills and pet accidents from reaching the pad and subfloor underneath, which makes carpet far more forgiving in a real household. At 36 oz per square yard, it is a lighter-weight carpet suited to bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms. The 12-foot roll width means fewer seams across a room, and we place the ones you do need where they show least. Made in the USA, it also uses recycled fiber. Colours in the range include Almond Latte, Caffeine, Campfire Ash, Canyon Dust, Coconut Ice, and Fresh Tone.

Good fits are bedrooms, living rooms, basements, home offices, and especially stairs, where carpet adds grip and hushes footsteps. It is warm and sound-absorbing, the opposite of a hard floor. The exception is wet rooms, where a waterproof hard surface is the better call.

Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.

Decision line: Chit Chat is the soft, value-minded choice, best in bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms where comfort and stain resistance lead.

See Chit Chat in person before deciding, since pile and colour shift across a room and under different light. It is at our Mississauga and Barrie stores; contact us about availability, and if it is for a lower level, our best flooring for a basement guide is worth a read. Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Anderson Tuftex Chit Chat?
Anderson Tuftex Chit Chat is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind on a 12-foot roll, in a cut-and-loop style built on PET polyester. It is stretched in over a separate underpad. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Where is Chit Chat best used?
Chit Chat suits bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. Its polyester fiber is soft and best kept to steadier-traffic rooms. Carpet should not go in wet rooms like bathrooms or laundry rooms.
How is Chit Chat installed?
Chit Chat is installed by the stretch-in method over a separate cushion. Our crew tacks perimeter strips, lays the underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams any joins flat. The quality of the underpad and the stretch is what keeps carpet looking and feeling good over time.
Does Chit Chat protect against spills?
Yes. Chit Chat is built on a LifeGuard waterproof backing, a moisture barrier that stops spills and pet accidents from soaking through to the cushion and subfloor, so messes stay on the surface where they can be cleaned. It does not make the carpet suitable for a bathroom, but it makes everyday spills far more forgiving.
Where can I see Chit Chat near me?
You can see Anderson Tuftex Chit Chat at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Carpet reads differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
