In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Carrera is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind that comes on a wide roll and is stretched over a separate cushion for a soft, warm, quiet floor. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.

Broadloom is at its best in bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, the rooms where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. It is the one floor that makes a staircase quieter and safer underfoot. The one place to avoid carpet is a wet room like a bathroom or laundry.

The detail behind that: This is a patterned style, with the design worked into the pile itself. It camouflages everyday traffic and adds a tailored look that a plain carpet cannot. The standout here is the backing: a LifeGuard waterproof backing that stops spills from soaking through to the cushion and subfloor, so a knocked-over drink or a pet accident stays on the surface where you can clean it. If you have kids or pets, this is the feature to look for. At a dense 64 oz per square yard of face weight, there is a lot of yarn underfoot, which reads as a plusher, more substantial carpet. The 12-foot roll width means fewer seams across a room, and we place the ones you do need where they show least. It is USA-made. Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost.
