Anderson Tuftex Batique Broadloom Carpet

Anderson Tuftex Batique is a cut & loop pile broadloom carpet, polyester, carried and installed by Squarefoot Flooring. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms.

Soft underfoot, warm in winter, and quiet in a busy house, broadloom carpet earns its place in bedrooms and lower levels, as long as you match the construction to the traffic.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Batique is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind that comes on a wide roll and is stretched over a separate cushion for a soft, warm, quiet floor. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.

Good fits are bedrooms, living rooms, basements, home offices, and especially stairs, where carpet adds grip and hushes footsteps. It is warm and sound-absorbing, the opposite of a hard floor. The exception is wet rooms, where a waterproof hard surface is the better call.

The detail behind that: This is a cut-and-loop construction: mixing cut and looped yarns creates a sculpted pattern that disguises dirt and traffic while giving the floor texture and depth. The fiber is PET polyester, which is naturally soft and stain-resistant and often made with recycled content. It is gentler on the budget than nylon and feels plush underfoot, though it is less springy, so it suits bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms more than a busy stair. The Softbac backing is lighter and more flexible than a conventional hard backing, which helps it lie flat, stretch cleanly, and stay wrinkle-free underfoot. Its 48 oz per square yard face weight is solid residential density, a good balance of feel and value. At 12 feet on the roll, a standard bedroom or living room seams just once or twice, kept out of the main walking paths. It is made in the USA and includes recycled content. Colours in the range include Aged Parchment, Ancient Street, Cathedral, Crushed Pebble, Crystal Chandelier, and Dried Herb.

This installs the traditional way: a separate carpet underpad goes down first, perimeter tack strips hold the edges, and our own installers power-stretch the carpet so it lies drum-tight, then heat-weld any seams so they vanish. Doing the stretch and the pad right is what prevents wrinkles and wear down the line. See our projects for past jobs.

Decision line: Batique is the soft, value-minded choice, best in bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms where comfort and stain resistance lead.

See Batique in person before deciding, since pile and colour shift across a room and under different light. It is at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms; contact us about availability, and if it is for a lower level, our best flooring for a basement guide is worth a read. The full Anderson Tuftex lineup is worth a look as well.
