Plata Carrara Abisso is a 2" matte porcelain mosaic from Anatolia Tile. The surface carries a matte face that absorbs light rather than bouncing it. Anatolia grades variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that stops the installation looking printed. The hexagon format sets it apart from a straight grid layout. In a home it suits kitchens, entry halls and main-floor living areas. Commercially it is specified for retail floors, restaurant and cafe dining rooms and hotel lobbies. Anatolia tests it at a DCOF of 0.50, at or above the 0.42 threshold ANSI sets for level interior floors expected to be walked on wet, Class 4 abrasion resistance and Mohs hardness 7. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm on a flat substrate. The body is glazed porcelain. One box contains 10 pieces, enough for 9.69 sq ft.
