Beaulieu Expedition Vinyl Plank Flooring
Good vinyl is not about the picture on the plank, it is about the wear layer on top and the core underneath.
In simple terms: Beaulieu Expedition is luxury vinyl plank, a wood-look floor that is 100% waterproof and built to take real-life traffic. It is WPC, Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.
The build and the spec: The core is WPC, wood-polymer composite, the more comfortable of the rigid cores. It has a touch more give than stone-based SPC, so it feels softer and warmer to walk on while staying stable and flat. It has a 22 mil wear layer, the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the builder-grade 6 to 12 mil you find in big-box vinyl. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. It carries an IIC rating around 72 and an STC around 71 plus an attached acoustic pad, so it clears the sound-transfer rules most GTA condo boards set, a common sticking point in high-rises. Planks run up to 8 inches wide and 72 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. An embossed surface adds real texture underfoot rather than a flat printed face. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is also FloorScore certified for indoor air quality and phthalate-free. It is backed by a Lifetime residential and 15-year commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Macadamia, Hazelnut, Pecan, Pinenut, and Karuka.
Our own crew installs Beaulieu Expedition across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, never subcontracted. A floating vinyl floor still needs a clean, flat base, so we level and prep first, then finish the trim and transitions. See our vinyl installation page.
Decision line: Expedition is the warmer, softer-feeling option, a good fit where comfort underfoot is worth a slightly thicker board.
Vinyl reads differently across a full floor than in a small sample, so it is worth seeing Expedition in person at either showroom. Contact us to check current stock, or browse the full vinyl plank range. Our is flooring waterproof guide explains what waterproof actually covers.
