COREtec Floors Originals VV735 Vinyl Plank Flooring

The vinyl aisle is full of look-alikes at very different prices, and the difference usually comes down to two specs most shoppers never check.

In simple terms: COREtec Floors Originals VV735 gives you the look of real wood in a waterproof, hard-wearing vinyl floor. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it with our own team.

The build and the spec: The core is WPC, wood-polymer composite, the more comfortable of the rigid cores. It has a touch more give than stone-based SPC, so it feels softer and warmer to walk on while staying stable and flat. It has a 20 mil wear layer, the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the builder-grade 6 to 12 mil you find in big-box vinyl. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. It is 100% waterproof top to bottom, not merely water-resistant, so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and entries are all fair game. It comes with an attached acoustic pad, which softens sound between floors and means one less layer to buy and lay. Planks run up to 7 inches wide and 59 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is backed by an USF 10-year Medium commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Allegiant Walnut, Aver Walnut, Bosc Oak, Irene Walnut, and Tyro Walnut.
