Twelve Oaks Flooring Habitat Herringbone Engineered Hardwood
Ask any installer what separates good engineered hardwood from the rest and they will point at the wear layer, not the price tag.
In simple terms: Twelve Oaks Flooring Habitat Herringbone is genuine white oak on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.
Here is what matters on this one. It is real white oak, a cooler, more contemporary cast with a tighter grain than red oak, and a touch harder. White Oak sits around 1360 on the Janka hardness scale, right at the oak benchmark for everyday durability. Stability comes from the build: a cross-layered engineered core that takes the seasonal swing in stride instead of telegraphing it into the floor. Colours in the range include Light Natural, Light Brown, Dark Brown, and Medium Grey.
Decision line: choose Habitat Herringbone when you want genuine hardwood that will stay flat over a slab or in a basement.
Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. Engineered board can be glued over a slab, floated, or nailed down, so we assess the subfloor, test for moisture, and pick the right method. Browse our projects or the hardwood installation page.
A small sample never shows how Habitat Herringbone moves across a whole room. See it at our Mississauga or Barrie showroom, contact us about availability, and compare materials on the hardwood vs vinyl guide. For the full Twelve Oaks Flooring range, see our Twelve Oaks Flooring page.
