Olympia Tile Colossal Calacatta Semi-Polished Porcelain Bookmatch B Slab 63" x 126"

Fewer grout lines is the reason people choose a slab. At 63" x 126", each piece of Colossal Calacatta Bookmatch B covers about 55 sq ft, so a shower wall, a fireplace face or a floor goes up with very few joints to clean.

In simple terms: Colossal Calacatta Bookmatch B is a 63x126 marble look porcelain slab for dry floors and walls, indoors.

It is the semi-polished finish in Calacatta from the Olympia Tile Colossal range. It is the B slab of a bookmatched A and B pair, so the veining mirrors across the two. The actual size is 62.99" x 125.98", or 160 x 320 cm.

It is 6 mm thick. The edges are rectified, so it can be set with a tight grout joint. The body is coloured to match the surface, so a chip shows less than it would on a white-body tile. It is rated for medium commercial traffic. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself does not need sealing.

It suits feature walls, shower walls, fireplace surrounds and large open floors away from wet areas. Pick it over standard tile when you want the wall or floor to read as one surface.

Each slab covers 55.11 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor takes 2 slabs, and that still leaves about 10% extra for cuts and spares. Bookmatched slabs are sold as a matched A and B pair, so order the A and B slabs together. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 2 slabs with the 10% extra included.

No outdoor rating is listed, so keep it indoors: no porches, patios or exterior walls. On a floor, keep the semi-polished face out of showers and away from entry doors where wet boots come in, because it gets slick when wet. A slab this size needs a flat substrate and a crew used to handling it; ours are.
