Ceratec Vernazza Calacatta Oro Matte Porcelain Tile 24" x 48"

Real marble etches, stains and needs sealing. Vernazza Calacatta Oro gives you the marble look in porcelain that does not.

In simple terms: Vernazza Calacatta Oro is a 24x48 marble look porcelain tile for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the matte finish in Calacatta Oro from the Ceratec Vernazza range.

The actual size is 23.6" x 47.2" (600 x 1200 mm). It is 9.5 mm thick. The edges are rectified, so it can be set with a tight grout joint. The spec sheet lists PEI III surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption of 0.1%. It is rated for light commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V3, moderate. It is designed by Ceratec in Canada and made in China. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits open-plan floors, living areas, basements and shower and bathroom walls. Pick it over real marble when you want the veining without sealing or etching.

Each box holds 2 pieces and covers 15.47 sq ft, so a 150 sq ft kitchen floor takes 10 boxes, or 11 boxes with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 8 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside. Its wet slip reading is below 0.42, the level most people look for on a wet floor, so keep it off shower floors and wet entries. It is rated for light commercial traffic, so keep it out of busy commercial floors.

Calacatta Oro also comes in 12" x 24", 24" x 24", 4" x 12" and 2" x 2". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.

Our own crews install it, so the people who measure the job are the people who answer for it. See Ceratec Vernazza Calacatta Oro in person at our Mississauga showroom (700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, 905-277-2227) or our Barrie showroom (112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4, 705-726-2272).
