Ceratec Rock Salt Smoke Polished Porcelain Tile 24" x 24"

Large tile means fewer grout lines to scrub, and a room reads bigger with them. Rock Salt Smoke gives you that in 24" x 24".

In simple terms: Rock Salt Smoke is a 24x24 porcelain tile for dry floors and walls.

It is the polished finish in Smoke from the Ceratec Rock Salt range.

The actual size is 23.6" x 23.6" (600 x 600 mm). It is 10 mm thick. The edges are rectified, so it can be set with a tight grout joint. The body is coloured to match the surface, so a chip shows less than it would on a white-body tile. The spec sheet lists PEI IV surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V3, moderate. It is made in Italy. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, hallways away from the entry door, kitchen backsplashes and shower and bathroom walls. Pick it over a smaller tile when you want fewer grout lines; pick smaller if the floor is out of level.

Each box holds 3 pieces and covers 11.61 sq ft, so a 150 sq ft living room floor takes 13 boxes, or 15 boxes with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 10 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but we would not put this finish on a patio, steps or a pool deck. On a floor, keep the polished face out of showers and away from entry doors where wet boots come in, because it gets slick when wet.

In this size, Rock Salt also comes in Grey, Green and White. Smoke also comes in 24" x 48". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.
