Ceratec Iceland White Polished Porcelain Tile 24" x 24"

Large tile means fewer grout lines to scrub, and a room reads bigger with them. Iceland White gives you that in 24" x 24".

In simple terms: Iceland White is a 24x24 porcelain tile for dry floors and walls.

It is the polished finish in White from the Ceratec Iceland range.

The actual size is 23.6" x 23.6" (600 x 600 mm). It is 9.5 mm thick. The edges are rectified, so it can be set with a tight grout joint. The body is coloured to match the surface, so a chip shows less than it would on a white-body tile. The spec sheet lists PEI IV surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for light commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V1, uniform. It is designed by Ceratec in Canada and made in China. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, hallways away from the entry door, kitchen backsplashes and shower and bathroom walls. Pick it over a smaller tile when you want fewer grout lines; pick smaller if the floor is out of level.

Each box holds 4 pieces and covers 15.47 sq ft, so a 150 sq ft living room floor takes 10 boxes, or 11 boxes with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 8 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but we would not put this finish on a patio, steps or a pool deck. On a floor, keep the polished face out of showers and away from entry doors where wet boots come in, because it gets slick when wet. It is rated for light commercial traffic, so keep it out of busy commercial floors.

In this size, Iceland also comes in Black. White also comes in 12" x 24". For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.

Our own crews install it, so the people who measure the job are the people who answer for it. See Ceratec Iceland White in person at our Mississauga showroom (700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, 905-277-2227) or our Barrie showroom (112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4, 705-726-2272).
