Ceratec Horizon Nero Matte Porcelain Chevron Mosaic 1" x 2"

A mosaic is the easiest way to give a backsplash, a niche or a shower wall some detail without changing the whole room.

In simple terms: Horizon Nero Chevron is a 1x2 porcelain chevron mosaic for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the matte finish in Nero from the Ceratec Horizon range.

Each sheet measures 9.8" x 12.8", with 1" x 2" pieces. It is 6 mm thick. The spec sheet lists PEI III surface abrasion rating, a wet DCOF slip reading below 0.42 and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for light commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V1, uniform. It is designed by Ceratec in Canada and made in China. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits backsplashes, feature walls, shower walls and dry floor accents. Pick it as the feature, and run a plain field tile around it.

Each sheet covers 0.87 sq ft, so a 30 sq ft kitchen backsplash takes 35 sheets, or 38 sheets with about 10% extra for cuts and spares. It is sold by the sheet, and a box holds 20 sheets. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 127 sheets with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside. Its wet slip reading is below 0.42, the level most people look for on a wet floor, so keep it off shower floors and wet entries. It is rated for light commercial traffic, so keep it out of busy commercial floors.

In this size, Horizon also comes in Bianco. For edges, Ceratec recommends a 5/16" trim profile.
