Ceratec Forme Azure Glossy Porcelain Subway Tile 3" x 8"

A backsplash or a shower wall is looked at up close every day, so the colour, the sheen and the grout line count for more than they do on a floor. Forme Azure is made for that wall.

In simple terms: Forme Azure is a 3x8 porcelain subway tile for walls only, such as backsplashes, feature walls and shower walls.

It is the glossy finish in Azure from the Ceratec Forme range.

The actual size is 2.95" x 7.9" (75 x 200 mm). It is 9.5 mm thick. The spec sheet lists water absorption of 0.07%. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V4, dramatic. It is made in Italy. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits kitchen backsplashes, feature walls, bathroom and shower walls and tub surrounds. Pick it for walls only; for a floor, choose a tile that is listed for floors.

Each box holds 60 pieces and covers 9.72 sq ft, so a 30 sq ft kitchen backsplash takes 4 boxes, and that still leaves about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 12 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for walls only, so do not put it on a floor, including a shower floor. At V4 the shade moves a lot from piece to piece, so we blend from several boxes as we lay it.

In this size, Forme also comes in colours including Antracite, Avorio, Bianco Assoluto, Cenere and Rosato. For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.

Our own crews install it, so the people who measure the job are the people who answer for it. See Ceratec Forme Azure in person at our Mississauga showroom (700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, 905-277-2227) or our Barrie showroom (112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4, 705-726-2272).
