Why Avalanche Stands Out

If a room sees water, pets, or heavy traffic, vinyl tends to be the practical answer, as long as you read past the photo to the build.

In simple terms: GoodFellow Flooring Avalanche is luxury vinyl plank, a wood-look floor that is 100% waterproof and built to take real-life traffic. It is rigid-core, Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.

The build and the spec: The core here is rigid-core, a stone-and-polymer composite that is denser and more rigid than standard vinyl. That rigidity is what lets it sit flat over an imperfect subfloor and hold its shape year-round, and it installs as a floating click floor. It has a 20 mil wear layer, the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the builder-grade 6 to 12 mil you find in big-box vinyl. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. Water is a non-issue: it is 100% waterproof through the whole plank, which is what makes it the go-to for bathrooms, kitchens, and below-grade rooms. Planks run up to 5 inches wide and 60 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. A low-sheen matte finish keeps glare and footprints down. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is also FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. It is backed by a 30-year residential and 10-year commercial warranty. Colours in the range include Chamonix, Orelle, Molines, and Lake Canyon.

Installation is in-house and never subcontracted, across the Toronto and Mississauga area up to Barrie and Simcoe County. We check the subfloor, prep it, and set the floor, then handle the trim. Browse our projects or the vinyl installation page.

Decision line: reach for Avalanche where stability and waterproofing lead the list: basements, kitchens, condos, and over concrete.

It is worth seeing Avalanche in person before deciding. Visit either store, contact us to confirm stock, and see more in the vinyl flooring range. For the full GoodFellow Flooring range, see our GoodFellow Flooring page.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is GoodFellow Flooring Avalanche?
GoodFellow Flooring Avalanche is an SPC (stone polymer composite) luxury vinyl plank, 100% waterproof, with a 20 mil wear layer. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Is Avalanche really waterproof?
Yes. Avalanche is 100% waterproof through the whole plank, not just water-resistant on the surface, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements. Standing water will not damage the floor itself, though you should still wipe up spills so they do not sit at the edges.
How durable is Avalanche?
Durability on vinyl comes down to the wear layer, and Avalanche has a 20 mil layer, a heavy-residential to light-commercial thickness that handles pets, kids, and busy rooms. The mil rating predicts how long it keeps looking new better than the overall thickness does.
Where can I see Avalanche near me?
You can see GoodFellow Flooring Avalanche at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Texture and colour read differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
