Why Pawnache Stands Out

Soft underfoot, warm in winter, and quiet in a busy house, broadloom carpet earns its place in bedrooms and lower levels, as long as you match the construction to the traffic.

In simple terms: Anderson Tuftex Pawnache is roll carpet for wall-to-wall installation, the soft, quiet, warm floor for the rooms where comfort matters most. Squarefoot Flooring stocks it and installs it with its own team.

Here is what matters with this one. It is a cut-and-loop carpet, which combines cut yarns and loops to sculpt a pattern into the surface. That high-low texture hides soil and footprints and adds visual interest without a printed look, a versatile middle ground between plush and loop. The yarn is nylon, the workhorse of carpet fiber. It resists crushing, bounces back after furniture and feet, and cleans up well, so it keeps its look in the rooms that get used hardest. Because it is solution-dyed, the colour runs all the way through the strand and shrugs off fading. The Softbac backing is lighter and more flexible than a conventional hard backing, which helps it lie flat, stretch cleanly, and stay wrinkle-free underfoot. At 26.5 oz per square yard, it is a lighter-weight carpet suited to bedrooms and lower-traffic rooms. Sold on 12-foot rolls, it covers most rooms with minimal seaming, which our installers plan to fall in low-traffic spots. It is USA-made. Colours in the range include Barely Beige, Capri Coast, Dry Sage, Golden Straw, Gray Mirage, and Misty Lake.

Good fits are bedrooms, living rooms, basements, home offices, and especially stairs, where carpet adds grip and hushes footsteps. It is warm and sound-absorbing, the opposite of a hard floor. The exception is wet rooms, where a waterproof hard surface is the better call.

Broadloom is stretched in over a separate underpad, not glued, and the install is where it is won or lost. Our in-house team sets the tack strips, lays the carpet underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams the seams flat. We handle stairs and transitions too. See our projects for examples.

Decision line: Pawnache is built for real use, the carpet to choose for stairs, family rooms, and high-traffic areas that still need to feel soft.

We keep Pawnache at both stores, where you can feel the pile and judge the colour properly. Contact us for stock, see how it works on stairs, or for offices and retail ask about our commercial flooring work. The full Anderson Tuftex lineup is worth a look as well.

Still Have Questions?

Quick answers about this collection before you buy.

What is Anderson Tuftex Pawnache?
Anderson Tuftex Pawnache is broadloom carpet, the wall-to-wall kind on a 12-foot roll, in a cut-and-loop style built on nylon. It is stretched in over a separate underpad. Squarefoot Flooring carries it and installs it with our own crew.
Where is Pawnache best used?
Pawnache suits bedrooms, living and family rooms, stairs, hallways, and finished basements, where warmth, softness, and sound control matter. Its nylon fiber handles stairs and high-traffic areas well. Carpet should not go in wet rooms like bathrooms or laundry rooms.
How is Pawnache installed?
Pawnache is installed by the stretch-in method over a separate cushion. Our crew tacks perimeter strips, lays the underpad, power-stretches the carpet so it stays taut, and heat-seams any joins flat. The quality of the underpad and the stretch is what keeps carpet looking and feeling good over time.
Is Pawnache good with pets and kids?
Pawnache uses resilient nylon that takes cleaning well, a practical choice for active households. For homes with pets, a cut pile is generally safer than a loop, which claws can snag. Ask us to match the right style to your household.
Where can I see Pawnache near me?
You can see Anderson Tuftex Pawnache at both Squarefoot Flooring showrooms, in Mississauga at 700 Dundas St E, Unit 3-4, and in Barrie at 112 Saunders Rd, Units 1-4. Carpet reads differently across a full floor, so we recommend seeing a sample first.
