Mjork Mica is a 2" matte porcelain mosaic in the Mjork range. The surface carries a matte face that absorbs light rather than bouncing it. Shade variation is graded V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that stops the installation looking printed. A hexagon format gives the wall or floor a pattern of its own. On the residential side that covers kitchens, entry halls and main-floor living areas. Commercially it is specified for retail floors, restaurant and cafe dining rooms and hotel lobbies. On paper that means a DCOF of 0.50, at or above the 0.42 threshold ANSI sets for level interior floors expected to be walked on wet, Class 4 abrasion resistance, a slip rating of R10 and Mohs hardness 9. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm on a flat substrate. The body is color body porcelain. It ships 10 pieces to a box, covering 9.69 sq ft.
