The natural surface keeps its texture, which is what you want where feet arrive wet. Because it is porcelain the body is dense all the way through, so a chip does not show a different colour underneath the way it can on a glazed ceramic. A box holds 5.81 sq ft, so a 100 sq ft floor works out at 19 boxes once you add the usual ten percent for cuts and the odd broken piece.
