NAF Flooring Handscraped Laminate

What separates a laminate that still looks right in a decade from one that does not is the wear rating, not the colour.

In simple terms: NAF Flooring Handscraped is a 12mm AC5 rated laminate, a practical wood-look floor for dry living areas. We carry it and install it in-house.

Handscraped runs a 12mm board on the thicker end of the range, which gives a solid, quiet step and bridges minor subfloor irregularities better than thin planks. It carries an AC5 wear rating, the level specified for light commercial use, so it shrugs off heavy household traffic, rentals, and high-use entries. The core is high-density fibreboard, which resists denting and holds the locking profile better than the cheaper particleboard in budget laminate. The surface is a low-sheen matte that hides dust and footprints better than a glossy finish. It installs with a click-lock system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. It is backed by a 30-year residential and 5-year Light commercial warranty.

With that wear rating, Handscraped is built for main floors, hallways, living rooms, and busy family spaces, and stands up to rentals and light commercial use that would wear a basic floor within a few years. The range includes tones such as Aphrodite, Apollo, Artemis, Misty Grey, and Poseidon.

Decision line: reach for Handscraped in the busiest rooms and rentals; the only reason to go water-resistant instead is regular exposure to water.
