Sleigh Creek Chariot, 6" x 36", is large enough that the subfloor has to be flat first, because a tile this size telegraphs every dip underneath. The look is worth the prep. Matte is the safer finish underfoot once water gets on it, and it hides the day to day better than a polish does. Porcelain is the hard wearing one. It is what we put down in a hallway, an entry or anywhere boots and grit arrive.
