Ceratec Terra Nero Matte Porcelain Tile 8" x 8"

A plain, solid-colour tile is the safe base for a room, since it works with any cabinet, vanity or wall colour. Terra Nero is that kind of tile.

In simple terms: Terra Nero is an 8x8 porcelain tile for floors and walls, indoors and out.

It is the matte finish in Nero from the Ceratec Terra range.

The actual size is 7.9" x 7.9" (200 x 200 mm). It is 9 mm thick. It is full-body porcelain: the colour runs through the tile, so a chip blends in. The spec sheet lists a wet DCOF slip reading above 0.42, an R9 slip rating and water absorption below 0.5%. It is rated for heavy commercial traffic. It is frost resistant. Shade variation is V3, moderate. It is made in Italy. Porcelain is fired dense, so it handles water, spills and daily foot traffic and the tile itself never needs sealing.

It suits kitchen floors, bathroom floors, hallways, basements, shower and bathroom walls, covered porches and patios and commercial floors such as stores and offices. Pick it when you want the floor or wall to sit quietly behind the cabinets and fixtures.

Each box holds 30 pieces and covers 13 sq ft, so a 40 sq ft bathroom floor takes 4 boxes, and that still leaves about 10% extra for cuts and spares. For every 100 sq ft, plan on 9 boxes with the 10% extra included.

It is listed for outdoor use, but an outdoor floor also needs the right base and slope, so ask us before planning it outside.

In this size, Terra also comes in colours including Anthracite, Avorio, Grigio, Rosso and Astro C. For edges, Ceratec recommends a 1/2" trim profile.
