COREtec Floors Originals VV810 Vinyl Plank Flooring

If a room sees water, pets, or heavy traffic, vinyl tends to be the practical answer, as long as you read past the photo to the build.

In simple terms: COREtec Floors Originals VV810 is luxury vinyl plank, a wood-look floor that is built to take real-life traffic. It is WPC, Squarefoot Flooring carries it and our own crew installs it.

Decision line: Originals VV810 is the warmer, softer-feeling option, a good fit where comfort underfoot is worth a slightly thicker board.

The detail behind that: The core is WPC, wood-polymer composite, the more comfortable of the rigid cores. It has a touch more give than stone-based SPC, so it feels softer and warmer to walk on while staying stable and flat. It has a 20 mil wear layer, the sweet spot for busy homes and light commercial rooms, well above the builder-grade 6 to 12 mil you find in big-box vinyl. With vinyl, the mil rating tells you more about longevity than the overall thickness does. It comes with an attached acoustic pad, which softens sound between floors and means one less layer to buy and lay. Planks run up to 8 inches wide and 72 inches long, a wide-and-long format that reads like real wood. Micro-bevelled edges define each plank for a more authentic look. It is backed by an USF Lifetime residential warranty. Colours in the range include Blonde Oak, Cerith Oak, Conch Ash, Flaxen Ash, and Midnight Oak.
