Novella Wood Engineered Hardwood

Novella Wood is hickory engineered hardwood, real wood over a stable core. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie showrooms, or browse online.

Real wood on top, a stable core underneath: that combination is why engineered hardwood ends up in more Toronto condos and finished basements than solid ever could.

In simple terms: Novella Wood is genuine hickory on top of a stable engineered base. That is what lets real wood go into rooms solid flooring cannot, while still sanding and finishing like the real thing. We carry it and install it with our own team.

Here is what matters on this one. It is real hickory, dramatic grain, natural colour variation, and the hardest common domestic species. Hickory sits around 1820 on the Janka hardness scale, well above the red oak benchmark, so it shrugs off busy traffic. What you are paying for is stability. A multi-ply core holds its shape across the seasonal humidity swing that moves solid wood. A handscraped surface gives it a worn, characterful look. It is a character grade, with natural colour variation and knots. It carries a 25-year warranty.

Decision line: Novella is the practical middle ground, real wood with the stability to go over concrete, into basements, and across the seasons.

We install Novella Wood with our own team, not subcontractors, across the GTA, Barrie, and Simcoe County. The method depends on the subfloor, glued to concrete, floated, or nailed to plywood, and a flat, dry base matters more than anything. Read how we work on the hardwood installation page, or see our projects.

We keep Novella at both showrooms, where the grain, sheen, and colour read properly. Contact us about availability, or start from our Toronto and Barrie hardwood pages.
