HydroXpert Water-Resistant Laminate

HydroXpert is a 12mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate, with a water-resistant core for the spills, pets, and wet boots that come with kitchens, baths, and entries. See it at our Mississauga and Barrie stores, or browse online.

The fastest way to ruin a laminate floor is to put a water-shy one where life actually happens, by the stove, the tub, or the entry.

In simple terms: HydroXpert is a 12mm AC4 rated water-resistant laminate. It is meant for the rooms where water is part of daily life, and our own crew installs it.

Because of that core, HydroXpert holds up in the rooms that sink a standard laminate: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries. The range includes tones such as White Clay, Smoked Wood, Autumn Sky, Hazelnut, and Roasted Brown.

The build behind that: HydroXpert runs a 12mm board on the thicker end of the range, which gives a solid, quiet step and bridges minor subfloor irregularities better than thin planks. It carries an AC4 wear rating, a step above standard that holds up to busy family households, hallways, and main floors. The surface is embossed in register, so the texture lines up with the printed grain and the floor reads and feels like real wood rather than a flat photo. It installs with a Valinge angle-and-drop click system, a glue-free floating install that keeps labour costs down and lets the floor be lifted and reused later. It is rated for 24 hours of surface water protection, which in practice means a spill, a melting ice cube, or a wet boot will not swell the seams as long as it is wiped up in good time. It is also scratch resistant. It is backed by a 25-year residential and 5-year commercial warranty.

Decision line: choose HydroXpert for any room that meets water, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and entries; for dry bedrooms and living rooms, a standard laminate will also do the job for less.

Installation is in-house across the Toronto and Mississauga area, Barrie, and Simcoe County, with no subcontractors. A floating floor needs a flat, dry base, so subfloor prep and underlayment are where we spend the time. See the laminate installation page.

Worth seeing in person, since grain and sheen read differently across a floor. HydroXpert is at our Mississauga and Barrie stores; contact us to check stock, or compare on the vinyl vs laminate guide.
